Here is my first post and to start I have decided to make a small analysis to estimate the mean salaries in different places around the world. The analysis includes 71 cities in all the five continents. And the results are:
And the top 5 places are for...
Nº5 Miami: home of one the biggest Latino communities in the US is also the second city in terms of salary with an average of 53800 $/year.
Nº4 New York: the forth position goes for the home of Wall Street and the main financial center of the world. Leading wages in the American continent but still a bit far away from the top three of the list.
Nº3 Luxemburg: we get to Europe to the top three places, starting with the small city/country of Luxemburg, not completely a tax heaven but the closest "legal" version of it.
Nº2 Geneva: for the second position we move to Switzerland home of the chocolate but also known for being the bank of the world.
Nº1 Zurich: finally as the top position, and still in Switzerland, goes for Zurich!, the city of private bankers with a mean salary of 80000 $/year were luxury flows over the city.
We have seen the bright side of the picture put there is also another side. The cities with the lowers salaries are:
Nº3 Nairobi: the third poorest city is in Africa, more precisely in Kenia, where people have to live with 370 euros a month.
Nº2 Jakarta: the second poorest city is the capital of Indonesia, where people make around 2 $/hour
Nº3 Kiev: and in the las place Kiev, highly influenced by its current situation with Russia, the average salary is 3600 $/year 22 times less than the people in Zurich.
